Chanel has always been synonymous with elegance, sophistication and timeless style. The French fashion house, founded by the legendary Coco Chanel, has been at the forefront of haute couture for more than a century, creating iconic pieces that have defined generations of women.
For its fall 2024 couture collection, Chanel paid homage to the city that nurtured its creativity and spirit: Paris. The show, held at the Port de la Conference in Paris, was a celebration of the Parisian woman, her allure, her attitude, and her diversity.
The collection, designed by Virginie Viard, Chanel’s artistic director since 2019, features a range of silhouettes that reflected the different facets of the Parisian personality. There were sleek suits in tweed and leather, embellished with pearls and chains; romantic dresses in tulle and lace, adorned with flowers and feathers; glamours gown in satin and velvet, sparkling with sequins and crystals; and edgy ensembles in denim and leather, accented with zippers and studs.
The color palette was also inspired by the City of Lights, with shades of black, white, beige, gray, navy, red, and pink. The accessories were equally stunning, with hats, gloves, belts, bags, shoes, and jewelry that added the finishing touches to each look.
The show was attended by a select number of guests, including celebrities, influencers, and friends of the house. Among them were Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose Deep, Kristen Steward, and Margot Robbie.
The show was also broadcasted online on Chanel’s website and social media platforms, as well as on the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s website. The online viewers could enjoy the show from different angels and perspectives, as well as discover backstage moments and interviews with the models and the creative team.
Chanel’s Fall 2024 couture collection was a beautiful tribute to Paris and its women, who embody the essence of Chanel: chic, confident and captivating. It was also a testament to the enduring legacy of Coco Chanel, who once said: “Fashion is not something that exist in dress only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening”.
