How A Passion For Amethyst Inspired The Creation Of The Most Elegant And Exclusive Rolls-Royce Ever

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled a stunning new coachbuilt masterpiece that celebrates the cultural heritage, family legacy, and personal passions of its commissioning client. The Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail is a unique expression of purity, clarity, and resilience, inspired by the birthstone of the patron's son.

A Contemporary And Architectural Presence

The Amethyst Deoptail is the result of a close collaboration between the client and the Rolls-Royce design team, led by Design Director Anders Warming. The car's hand-sculpted from is characterized by a low stance and aerodynamic edges, bestowing the car with a contemporary and architectural presence. A removable hard top creates two distinct characters. Without its roof, Amethyst Droptail is a lithe, open-top roadster, with its roof, it is a formidable and dramatic coupe.

A Striking Dual-Tone Finish

The car's exterior features a striking dual-tone finish of Amethyst Purple and Silver Frost, creating a contrast between the body and the roof. The Pantheon grille, which is the largest ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce, has both a brushed and polished finish, inspired by the client's Vacheron Canstantin timepiece. The rear section of the car is the only aerodynamically functional wood surface on a new motor car, made from hand-polished Macassar Ebony veneer. The veneer aft deck is also the largest wood surface ever produced by Rolls-Royce.

A Celebration Of Painstaking Craft And Focused Minimalism

The interior of the car is a celebration of painstaking craft and focused minimalism. The seats are upholstered in Arctic White leather with Amethyst Purple piping and stitching. The dashboard, door panels, and center console are also covered in leather, creating a seamless and harmonious environment. The steering wheel features a Macassar Ebony rim and an Amethyst Purple airbag cover. The starling headliner, which consists of 1,344 fiber optic lights, creates a soothing ambiance that mimics the night sky.

A Touch Of Purple: Precious Amethyst Gems

One of the most remarkable features of the car is the incorporation of precious amethyst gems into the interior and exterior. The gems are embedded in the centre caps of the wheels, the Spirit of Ecstasy ornament, the door handles, the instrument panel, and the rotary controller. The gems are also used to create a bespoke clock that adorns the dashboard. The clock features an amethyst face with silver hands and Roman numerals. The clock can be removed from the car and worn as a pendant by the client.

A Personal Legacy That Reflects Values And Passions

The Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail is a testament to the vision and creativity of its commissioning client, who wanted to create a personal legacy that reflects their values and passions. The car is also a demonstration of the unparalleled craftsmanship and innovation that Rolls-Royce Coachbuild offers to its discerning patrons. The car was unveiled to the client at a private event in G, Switzerland.
