In the world of fragrance, few names resonate with the blend of artistic finesse and technical mastery quite like Maison Francis Kurkdjian.

This year, the maison celebrates a revival that goes beyond nostalgia, breathing new life into an iconic scent. The relaunch of A Part of Me, affectionately known as APOM, redefines the boundaries of fragrance, exploring the delicate intersection of memory, identity, and timeless elegance.

First introduced in 2009 as two separate fragrances—APOM Pour Femme and APOM Pour Homme—the concept behind APOM was as personal as its name implies: "a part of me." A decade and a half later, Kurkdjian has reimagined APOM as a unisex fragrance that transcends gender, blending the warmth and sensuality of its feminine predecessor with the upscale, sharp appeal of its masculine counterpart. The result is an intoxicating fougère with a radiant, ambery floral base that speaks to modern sensibilities while retaining the sophistication of its origins.

Kurkdjian, a true craftsman of emotion, explains that perfume is an extension of one's identity, a personal signature left behind in every interaction. This sentiment lies at the heart of the new APOM. “APOM Pour Femme and APOM Pour Homme were two perfumes emanating from a single olfactory matrix,” says Kurkdjian, referring to the dual fragrances’ shared foundation of lavender, orange blossom, and sweet amber. The new version maintains this harmonious blend but moves toward a richer, more layered composition that is unmistakably personal, regardless of the wearer’s gender.

The fragrance opens with the vibrant brightness of neroli, weaving into a floral heart that unveils the aromatic lavender signature. As it develops, the warm depth of vanilla and white musk comes to life, creating a comforting, sensual base that lingers on the skin like a second nature. It’s a scent that refuses to conform, instead inviting the wearer to embrace its complexity and wear it as an extension of themselves—a true part of who they are.

To mark the relaunch, Maison Francis Kurkdjian turned to the art of cinema, collaborating with filmmaker Cyril Teste to create a five-minute film that captures the spirit of APOM in motion. Eschewing the fleeting aesthetics of social media's short-form content, Kurkdjian chose to explore the "luxury of time." This cinematic tribute isn’t merely an advertisement but a thoughtful representation of APOM’s artistic evolution. Like the fragrance itself, the film invites viewers to slow down and appreciate the beauty of detail, subtlety, and craftsmanship.

In reviving APOM, Maison Francis Kurkdjian has not only honored the legacy of a beloved fragrance but also elevated it to new heights, creating a modern classic that speaks to the soul as much as to the senses. With this relaunch, Kurkdjian has shown once again that true luxury lies not just in the materials used, but in the emotions they evoke—a part of him, a part of us, and a part of every story we carry forward.
