Italian fashion house Moschino is close to naming a new creative director, according to Massimo Ferretti, the executive chairman at Aeffe, which owns the brand. Jeremy Scott stepped down as creative director in March 2023 after a decade in the role.
Ferretti spoke to Reuters on the sidelines of an Alberta Ferretti fashion show on September 20, 2023. He said, “We are in the final stages of defining who will replace Jeremy Scott”. He did not provide any further details about the new creative director or when they would be announced.
Ferretti also said that 2023 would be a “transitional year” for Moschino as it seeks a new development path. The brand is known for its playful and irreverent designs, but it has been struggling to keep up with the changing fashion landscape in recent years.
The appointment of a new creative director is seen as a critical step in Moschino’s turnaround plan. The new creative director will be responsible for setting the brand’s vision and direction, as well as designing its collection.
Industry insiders are speculating about who could be the next creative director of Moschino. Some potential candidates include:
· Francesco Risso: Risso is the current creative director of Marni, another Italian fashion house. He is known for his eccentric and experimental designs.
· Daniel Lee: Lee is the former creative director of Bottega Veneta. He is known for his sleek and minimalist designs.
· Glenn Martens: Martens is the current creative director of Y/Project, a Belgian fashion house. He is known for his deconstructed and avant-garde designs.
The appointment of a new creative director is a major event for any fashion house. It will be interesting to see who Moschino chooses to lead the brand into the future.
