Saudi Airport Announces List Of Banned Items



Saudi Arabia's King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah has recently issued a statement on its official Twitter account, informing travelers about the list of items that are prohibited from carrying through the airport. The statement aims to enhance the airport's safety, prevent potential risks, and create a secure environment for all passengers.



Banned Items In Hand Luggage


According to the statement, the following items are not allowed in hand luggage:


  • Blades

  • Toxic liquids

  • Compressed gas

  • Army knives

  • Firearms and replicas

  • Explosives

  • Ice skates

  • Baseball bats

  • Nail accessories

  • Tools

  • Corrosives

  • Radioactive materials

  • Meat cleavers

  • Knives

  • Scissors


The statement warns that the prohibited items will be confiscated and the passenger has no right to demand them back.



Banned Items In Checked Baggage


The statement also specifies a separate list of items that are banned in checked baggage, including:


  • Liquid oxygen devices

  • Hoverboards

  • Electroshock and disabling devices

  • Radioactive materials

  • Oxidizers or organic peroxides

  • Explosives

  • Compressed gases

  • Flammable lighters

  • Toxic or infectious substances

  • Corrosives

  • Magnetized materials

  • Firearms and replicas

  • Security - type cash boxes, bags, or attache cases.


Moreover, the statement advises that loose or spare batteries of all kinds, including power banks, are strictly forbidden in checked baggage.
