Six Senses, a global leader in luxury hospitality and wellness, has recently announced the appointment of Frederik Blomqvist as the general manager of its upcoming resort in Saudi Arabia, Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea. Blomqvist, who has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, will oversee the opening and operations of the resort, which is expected to welcome its first guests in late 2023.
Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea is one of two inland locations that together with coastal and marine initiatives from The Red Sea Projects span 10,800 square miles (28,000 square kilometers) on Saudi Arabia's west coast. The project aims to create a new destination for sustainable tourism and conservation, showcasing the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region.
The resort, which is designed by the renowned British architectural firm Foster +Partners, will feature 76 villas and suites inspired by the Nabataean architectural heritage and majestic desert surroundings. The resort will also offer a range of wellness and recreation facilities, such as a spa, a fitness center, a pool, an artisan village, a cooking school, and an outdoor cinema. Guests will be able to enjoy various activities and experiences, such as desert safaris, camel rides, stargazing, hiking, biking, and wildlife encounters.
