In the coming days, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will witness a spectacular transformation as Noor Riyadh, the world's largest light art festival, takes center stage from November 30 to December 16, 2023. Established in March 2021 as part of the Riyadh Art initiative, Noor Riyadh has become a beacon of artistic expression, enveloping the capital city in a radiant tapestry of light and creativity. As anticipation mounts, it is evident that this year's theme, "The Bright Side of the Desert Moon," promises an enchanting and thought-provoking experience for residents and visitors alike.


A Celebration of Light Art:


Noor Riyadh stands as a testament to the Kingdom's commitment to uplifting the arts. Spanning across the city, the festival transforms every facet of Riyadh, including residential neighborhoods, parks, metro and bus stations, tourist destinations, and pedestrian pathways. The event showcases the work of more than 100 artists, with over 35 hailing from Saudi Arabia and representing a diverse array of talents. Artists from 35 countries will converge to illuminate the cityscape with their unique and captivating creations.

This year's theme, "The Bright Side of the Desert Moon," adds a layer of mystique to Noor Riyadh. The festival will be organized into five distinct hubs, each providing a canvas for artists to explore and interpret the theme in their own distinct ways. The result is expected to be a mesmerizing interplay of light, shadows, and artistic vision that encapsulates the beauty and intrigue of the desert moon.


Community Engagement and Beyond:


Beyond the luminous displays, Noor Riyadh boasts a rich calendar of over 500 community engagement programs. These include enlightening talks, guided tours, interactive workshops, and special activities involving film and music. The festival aims not only to showcase art but also to foster a sense of community and cultural exchange. One of the highlights this year is the "Refracted Identities, Shared Futures" exhibition, curated by Neville Wakefield and Maya Al Athel, promising a deep and meaningful exploration of diverse artistic perspectives.
